The Old Perkins House

As a very young kid the story went that the Old Perkins House at the top of Dyers Lane was haunted but being a young one we never took much stork in those tales. I lived in the old Bert Stover farm house at the bottom of State St. which was a cross the 6th fairway of the Castine golf course. So when me and my brothers wanted to go to play with our friends which lived down Dyers lane and on Water street, we always used the short cut which went right by the West corner of the old Perkins house.…See More

The old Fort George in Castine, Maine

It all started years ago.my son and brother went to castine and fort George with our metal detectors to see if we could find some thing of interest. after scanning for a while we got a real strong reading so started to dig in that spot. we went real deep and finally found some iron straps and a wooden container, in side was some bones.
