Arrive early and meet other MOOSE members over a cup of coffee

or tea. Snacks are provided for a donation. Sign up for the open Microphone with the forms provided. To print and fill a form out in advance to give the Host go to:

Original and traditional stories 10 minutes or less are welcomed at the open mic hosted by a different Moose Member each month.(see list below)

8:10 Featured performer


Each month a featured Professional Story Performer will entertain and enlighten audiences for the suggested donation of $5.00 per person. Open to the all adults and teenagers that listen like adults!

How to become a Host or a Featured Storyteller

The following is a list of Hosts and their Featured Performers.

To be selected to be a Feature you must be invited by a Moose member Host. 

To become a Host complete a Host submission form for any Date that is Available

Moose Meeting Open Mic/Spoken Word May 8th, 2013 MOOSE (Maine Organization of Storytelling Enthusiasts) MOOSE meets on the Second Wednesday of each month at the: Rines Auditorium 5 Monument Square Portland, Maine 04101 6:30 Meet a MOOSE Arrive early and meet other MOOSE members over a cup of coffee or tea. Snacks are provided for a donation. Bring a dish of treats and you eat free! 7:00 Open Mic Original and traditional stories 10 minutes or less are welcomed at the open mic hosted by a different Moose Member each month. We share stories in the Oral tradition so please do not bring readings. Notes are allowed for reference on "New tales". Bring a story about your grandma or if you are a grandma, a story you created for your grandchild. Debb Freedman has been creating fairy tales for others since the mid nineties. she has witnessed it's potency at memorial services, weddings, etc, in desperate as well as celebratory times. Debb facilitates workshops for grandparents to open the heart's language, fairy tale, and create a story for the grandchildren, actual or perceived, we love.
